Creating the Event Type #
Go to Event Types and choose New event type. MixCalendar asks for a format first, then opens the editor. The minimum required fields are a name, a duration, and a location.
Core Settings #
- Name appears as the page heading and in calendar event titles.
- Slug is the URL segment. It is generated from the name and can be edited, for example
https://mixcalendar.mixcommerce.co/priya/discovery-call. - Description is shown beside the calendar and included in confirmation emails. Basic formatting and links are supported.
- Duration can be a single value or a set of options the invitee chooses from.
- Location determines how the meeting takes place, from an automatically generated conferencing link to a physical address.
Assigning Availability #
Every event type points at one availability schedule. Selecting an existing named schedule keeps behaviour consistent across offers, while choosing Custom hours defines availability that applies to this event type alone. Custom hours are useful for offers you only want bookable on particular days, such as workshops on Fridays.
Publishing and Sharing #
New event types are active as soon as they are saved. Use the Copy link action to grab the public URL, or the Embed action to generate widget code for your own site. Setting an event type to hidden removes it from your main booking page while keeping the direct link functional, which is how one-off and internal offers are usually shared.
Duplicating #
Duplicating copies every setting except the slug, which gets a numeric suffix you should rename. This is the quickest way to create a family of similar offers, such as the same consultation at three price points.
