What an Override Does #
A date override replaces your normal working hours for one specific date. It either marks the date completely unavailable or substitutes a different set of hours. Overrides take precedence over weekly hours and are the correct tool for holidays, conference days, and one-off extended availability.
Blocking a Date #
Open Availability, select a schedule, and choose Add date override. Pick the date and mark it unavailable. Ranges of consecutive dates can be selected in one action for a full holiday.
Changing Hours for a Date #
Instead of marking a date unavailable, enter replacement ranges. A Saturday you would normally have off can be opened 10:00 to 13:00 for a single weekend, without changing your weekly pattern.
Recurring Holidays #
Overrides apply to specific dates and do not repeat automatically. For annual holidays, either add each year’s dates in advance or block the time in a connected calendar as an all-day busy event, which MixCalendar will treat as a conflict every year the event recurs.
Existing Bookings Are Not Cancelled #
Adding an override never cancels meetings already scheduled on that date. MixCalendar shows a warning listing the affected bookings so you can cancel or reschedule them deliberately.
Reviewing Overrides #
Active overrides are listed beneath the weekly grid with their dates and effect. Past overrides are cleared automatically after thirty days to keep the list readable.
