How Do You Connect Outlook or Microsoft 365?

1 min read

Connecting #

Open Settings → Connected calendars and choose Connect Microsoft. Sign in with a personal Outlook.com account or a work or school Microsoft 365 account and approve the requested permissions. Both account types support conflict detection, event creation, and automatic Teams links.

Tenant Administrator Approval #

Some Microsoft 365 tenants require an administrator to approve third-party applications before individual users can grant consent. If the consent screen reports that approval is needed, send your administrator the application name shown on the screen and ask them to approve it for the tenant. Once approved, repeat the connection and it completes normally.

Shared and Delegated Mailboxes #

MixCalendar connects to the calendar of the signed-in account. Shared mailboxes and delegated calendars are supported only when the account you sign in with already has the appropriate rights in Microsoft 365. If a shared calendar does not appear in the selection list, the underlying delegation is missing and must be granted in Microsoft first.

Automatic Teams Links #

Once a Microsoft account is connected, event types can select Microsoft Teams as their location. A unique meeting link is generated at booking time and written into the calendar invitation.

Exchange On-Premises #

Legacy on-premises Exchange servers are not supported directly. Organisations running hybrid deployments should connect through Microsoft 365 for mailboxes that have been migrated. For mailboxes that have not, publish a busy-time feed and use it as a read-only conflict source.

Verifying #

After connecting, create a temporary busy event in Outlook and refresh your booking page preview. The matching slot should disappear within a minute, confirming that the connection is working end to end.
